Stardust ice cream!

Star’s Starlight ice cream base, dusted with crushed carob shards.

After a fantastic time at the dog show a few weeks ago, Star’s been relaxing at home and exploring all the star systems in Starfield. Star loves games that bear her name, especially space ones.

Star’s also been refining her ice cream recipe and trying new flavours. She has a new favourite now.

So, let’s make ice cream!

A pile of broken carob shards.

Carob shards!

It’s a crushed, thin sheet of carob which contains just two dog-safe ingredients.

The journey to crafting some Stardust ice cream begins by crafting the thin sheet of solid carob.

Star’s carob sheet ingredients:

Melt the coconut oil in a bowl using a microwave or a stovetop until it becomes a clear liquid. Once it has melted, slowly and gradually add the carob powder to the bowl containing the coconut oil and stir until it reaches a glossy, smooth, and thick syrup-like consistency.

Line a thin baking tray with parchment paper, pour the carob syrup onto the tray in a thin layer, and store in a refrigerator until it turns solid. It should take about an hour.

While the carob cools into a solid sheet, it’s time to prepare the refined Starlight ice cream base!

Star’s refined Starlight ice cream base ingredients:

Mix the ingredients in a high-powered blender, then pour the mixture into an ice cream maker or a freezer-safe container and store it in the freezer.

Once the carob sheet has cooled into a solid, break it into tiny shards no larger than chocolate chips. Either use a food processor or become the Incredible Hulk (It’s more fun).

When the ice cream base has started to freeze slightly into a slushy texture, begin mixing in the carob shards. This is easiest with an ice cream maker. Once the shards are thoroughly mixed in, store the ice cream in the freezer overnight.

Behold, the finished ice cream!

Two jars of Stardust ice cream.

It’s like Stracciatella

but for dogs.

Stardust is Star’s favourite ice cream flavour yet. But she has one more she wants to try. It’s very different from what she’s tried so far, so it will take some to perfect.

For now, Star has a new toy to play with. 📷
