06/ Destiny The Game
Destiny is a video game and story Star has grown up with. It was released in 2014 when Star was just three years old, and its story spanned a whole decade of Star’s life, and she got to experience it all. Every release, every expansion, every season, every update.
Even though she’s never picked up a controller herself, Star is a true guardian (A Stardian, as she prefers to be called). The Guardian she’s observed play through every campaign is every bit her Guardian.
Star’s Guardian has earned many titles and accolades over the years. Still, her favourite, by far, is that of Young Wolf, which she earned in the Rise of Iron expansion (which also had actual wolves in it).
Star is a Nightstalker at heart. As fun as shatter-diving all the things with Stasis was and as alluring and powerful as Prismatic is, nothing beats shadow-diving into invisibility and sneaking up on your enemies.
Through every victory and defeat, Star’s Guardian faced the darkness, embraced it, and ultimately used it alongside the light in her final confrontation against The Witness in The Final Shape. It’s a bittersweet moment. A story spanning most of her life has reached its end. But perhaps it’s also the start of a new one in which Star can become legend. Like she isn’t already.
