Woods.

Are we out of the woods?

The view from the clearing atop a knoll in the woods is enchanting.

Star’s next spooky destination on her Halloween adventure was an area of Lews Castle’s woodlands she had yet to explore.

The woods can be a scary place. In Star’s favourite films, the woods are home to monstrous dinosaurs, Will O’ The Wisps, and Maleficent. On Star’s walk, however, it was home to nothing but the occasional other dog enjoying a tranquil wander through the woods.

Although Star loved traversing the woods’ bewitching winding paths, it was much too bright to be spooky. The light, or in this case, the sun, needed turning off.

As Sombra from Overwatch would say… apagando las luces!

Star? Is that you?

It’s really spooky now.

The woods were much spookier to explore in the dark. Even with a flashlight, beyond the trees, there was only darkness. It was ominous yet cool. Even if the woods weren’t home to anything spooky, it certainly felt like they were at night!

Did you crack that twig?! Maybe there were ghosts!

High on adrenaline from her nighttime exploration of the woods, Star could use a tasty treat to unwind.

A paw-shaped treat!

Star loved these so much that she sent some to her two Shiba Inu pen pals, Cocoa and Lilly, in California.

Now, about those giant mysterious (and probably spooky) stones… 🪨
