Destiny.

Star the Husky with her Ghost from Destiny.

Star’s Ghost, Ghost.

What ducks?

Star’s final film, Star and the Final Sand, premiered a few weeks ago in the wake of the defeat of The Witness. Did you like it?

Star and the Final Sand is a culmination of Star’s cinematic journey. It’s her longest and most expansive film, featuring throwbacks to every film that came before. The film takes us to Star’s favourite locations from her many adventures, including her Treasure Trail, with a glimpse of a heron and maybe a cow or seven. And, of course, it stars Star.

It also includes footage of some incredible sand art by Neil Walker. An outcome of pure happenstance from an impromptu late-night visit to Garry Beach. Some might call that destiny.

There are absolutely no ducks in Star’s film. Zero. None.

Let’s rewatch it!

The name and theming are heavily inspired by Destiny’s The Final Shape expansion, and for good reason.

Star has spent a lot of her life around video games. Although she can’t play them herself (don’t tell her that), she likes to watch and considers herself a gamer. And sabotage by being a distraction at the most crucial moments. If The Witness triumphed, it would have been Star’s fault.

Destiny is one such video game and the most impactful. Releasing when Star was just 3 years old, its story spanned a decade of Star’s life. She has grown up alongside Destiny from the very beginning to its conclusion.

Let’s sidetrack on a Sidequest!

It’s time for Star to be brushed now. Who likes stories? Star knows a good one, and she’s loch-ing forward to sharing it. 😃
